Members bikehorn
What did Noel Gallagher and Bonehead use on this album? I'm looking for a way to get that "Shakermaker" and "Cigarettes and Alcohol" tone. I know he used Les Pauls and ES-335s. Are these JCM 900s? Members TheGareth
I think it was a combination of Orange and Vox Yeah, I think so too. As far as I can remember Noel also uses Tubescreamers to boost his amps.

Members Marshredder
JCM900's have always been their go-to marshalls I believe. I know for a tour or two they used Slash Signatures too with the slash logo taped out. They use loads of stuff though, I seen them with bassman heads, oranges, VOX heads etc. I'll post an entorage of Oasis gear if you want! just gimmie a minute. Members Marshredder
Some more info I found from Interviews! For the first 3/4 albums the setup was basically the same. Noel used Epiphone Riviera's and Sheratons, although the whole of Definatly Maybe was recorded with an epiphone les paul, which he later gave away to Digsy from Smaller. His FX board was pretty basic, containing a Vox Wah, Boss PH2, DD3 and HR2. This ran through a Korg tuner to a splitter box, one side ran into a Vox AC30, later to be a Marshall Bluesbreaker combo, the other ran into another splitter box which ran into a JCM900 stack and a WEM dominator combo. His huge sound was basically each amp cranked up to give a wall of sound. Paul "Bonehead" Arthurs used a Epiphone Riviera straight to a Marshall valvestate amp. Noel used a few other guitars in the studio, a strat and another les paul that Jonny Marr gave him but the amps stayed the same, the two combos and the JCM900 for solo's. Early days, before they were signed: Noel: Epiphone Les Paul Epiphone Rivera Marshall Valvestate 8080 combo Wem Dominator 15 watt tube Combo Roland Space Echo No idea about pedals, or the others. Definately Maybe Tour: Noel: Marshall JCM900 Hi Gain Dual Reverb Head, and 2 4x12 cabinets Orange Overdrive Head and Orange 4x12 cabinet Marshall Bluesbraker combo Two Roland Space echos (rackmounted, and cant hear them being used) Boss DD5 and Vox Wah Bonehead: Epiphone Rivera Unkown Les Pual copy with capo 3rd fret (for Up in the Sky) Marshall JMP 50 watt combo Marshall JCM 900 head and 2x12 cab (spare?) Members ReniMani2
I'm a big Oasis fan and they've always had some cool tones. The new DVD of theirs that came out, the '05/'06 tour doc, is a great watch. That last photo in Marshredder's post of Andy and Gem's gear; it looks like Gem has two AC30 heads on cabs and two Blues Juniors. I used to have a '66 non-reverse Firebird like he favors and it was such a great player's axe. Still miss it...
Members Dale B.
The other Clark Amp he used was a Clark Tyger. It's a 3x10 35 watt combo.

The sound on their albums is always brilliant. Live they're a right laugh too, it's like a football match singing along to all the songs.
Members dj_carss
I keep wondering what happened to Noel's sparkly Matchless Superchief stacks from the Be Here Now Era - mustve cost a fortune (not that he's short of a bob or two) but I reckon he only bought them as Chief is his nick name. I also remember stories of him buying up old Marshalls from Rory Gallaghers estate. Wonder what happened to them as well?
