Members surfcat
For a Jcm800 4010 1x12 combo. The G12-65 was the origianal in that amp but mine was already changed to a V30. Which is a better choice for classic '70's rock (Zep, ZZ Top, Hendrix) up to Gov't Mule and maybe '80's hair metal? Is 65w enough for this amp? I'm really thinking more the Warehouse version for the G12-65 because of the huge difference in price on these. The other speaker is still up in the air but leaning Celestion. Members surfcat
Why don't you like the V30? It has cone cry with that amp. Otherwise not a bad speaker, but the one in my other amp does it with this amp too-I think V30's are prone to this.
Members blackba1
I would consider a G12K-100 as well. It really depends on what you are looking for in the speaker. If you want a balanced speaker the CL80 is great. It doesn't add much color to your tone. The G12-65 has a nice warm round midrange. I would probably go with the G12-65 or the G12K-100, even though I really like CL80's and I use them with my marshall 2553....
