Members starsnuffer
The cheapest outboard processors are far inferior to anything you can get in the box. Why don't you use a plugin? -W

Members DeadManWalking
Alesis MidiVerb is all right.. I find most software Reverbs to not be very good either.. I havent found one that does it for me.. There are some that are good for extreme FX but not for a bread and butter reverb.. Some software reverbs that come to mind in that mold are Glaceverb and Ambience. BUt again I only use them for more of an extreme effect.. The bread and butter reverbs I fall back on, basically only because its what I have, is the Waves Renn. Verb and True Verb. I also like the reverb that ships with Wavelab called Natural Verb
Members DeathMonkey
+1 to plugs, but they aren't always appropriate to the effects you may be wanting. Are you looking for digital or analog sound? Do you need XLR? There are free reverb plugs out there, like http://www.anwida.com/product.asp?pid=7 For plugs in general, it's hard to beat Cycling'74's Pluggo. http://www.cycling74.com/products/pluggo For outboard pedals with an analog flavor, the Holy Grail line from Electro Harmonix are noisy, but have great vibe. For more digital stuff, the Alesis Pico/Nano/MicroVerb line isn't terrible. You're not going to get much better until you start getting up to the Kurzweil Rumour or Eventide stuff. Members xFkx
Many famous mixes have been done using algorythms subpar to those of the RVerb... just have a host at some free vst reverbs at k-v-r audio

Maybe that's what I'll do. Just spend $100 on FXpansion and then open my door to a world of VSTs.
Members Dark Angel
Because I like the Waves Renaissance reverb and I can't afford it at the time. Then you don't need outboard reverb. You only need delay... until you can buy what you actually want.
Members Dark Angel
I definitely dig the analog sound. You have access to real plates, or do you like plinky springs?
Members Bob Savage
What is the cheapest, yet best outboard reverb processor you've come across? BWAHAHHAHAHA!!! I've always associated fairly low cost and best bang for buck FX with Rocktron stuff.
Members Bob Savage
I definitely dig the analog sound. Forget about the Rocktron then. I think they have a high value for the money but analog, they aren't.
