Members morpha2
So a Blues Junior can be had used at $250-300. In the opinions of those that have modded theirs, is it worth it to lay down another $150+ replacing the speaker and other parts (filter caps, etc) to improve the sound? Or are you better off just going stock with a more expensive amp, like an AC15? Just looking for some opinions--craigslist is ripe with cheap used Blues Juniors at the moment. Members bigdaddyd
yes....great amp...doesn't have to even cost that much to mod. $50 tops for a better speaker like a jensen, and replace the reverb with a better accutronics one that has been modded...check ebay for the mod. I think they are like $20. huge diff. Tubes also make a difference.
Members BillM
here's a site that has some mods - http://home.comcast.net/~machrone/bluesjunior.htm some of the blues jr. mods are fairly simple, but removing the board and working with it, like any other pcb, can be a pain. pretty good little amp imo.
