Dammit man, how do you get such a PROFESSIONAL sound Johnny!?

Was just listening to your work on this song, and although yeah, it's a bit slower than my original, I just LOVE the sound! So polished...it's got a whole different feel to mine. I still want the original feel and speed, but I love the sort of...ambient background stuff...I WAAANT IIIIT!!

Even though this might have been a rhetorical post
there are only a couple things I do before recording. :)

(1) Check All (Input) Levels Prior To Recording...
So that the input (in this case the keyboard) is optimised.
No clipping (going beyond 0db) no overly EQ'd sounds
(which can be changed after the "take")

(2) Sound quality/Design...
Making subtle tweaks here and there pays dividends toward the output.
You do NOT need the most expensive gear to get expensive sounding results.

Check out KVR (VST software forum) :cop:
http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=177407 To Start...

Get a sustain pedal and a more dynamic piano VSTi. :thu:
CV Piano by Tascam IS the best free piano VST out there.
Have a listen:

pt 2 http://www.megaupload.com/?d=438Q514H
pt 3 http://www.megaupload.com/?d=NHI0JAVJ

These links ^^^ are untested BUT you can use
the program 7zip to view the files and make sure there aren't
any viruses, this was a free program but it's not on Tascams's site.

After you have all the sounds you could ever ask for
the key is to experiment and play certain sounds
in different ways so you can layer them on top of one
another which will create vast sound scapes or whatever you want!
