Members wwhhaatt
My amp was acting funny so I pulled out the tubes to re-seat them. They all have a bit of build up on the pins but this one really stood. out. I don't know what it is but it doesn't look good

Members mbarn3065
Many 9 pin tubes are made with solder on the pins. Too much heat, it will melt, and the tube is permanently soldered into the socket.
Members wwhhaatt
It's 8 pins. What's also odd is that the volume cut out on the amp while I was playing. I had it in a 16ohm cab then switched the ohm selector to 8ohms and the amp got louder

Members Oblivion DC
You might have to re-tension the pin contacts in the socket, then hit them with contact cleaner and run a tube in and out of them a few times.

Members JamesPeters
What you see sticking out the ends are the wires from inside the tube. They are soldered into the "pins" of the base. With this tube they just weren't trimmed very well. You can leave them as is, or trim them flush using some side cutters / nail clippers / whatever (just don't cut at the "pins" of the base at all). There's no way the wires from the tubes "grew" out of the solder (or got "pulled out") from the pins of the base.
