Members stompboxfreak72
I have a 2009 QR with loop volume that I like very much but doesn't fit my playing style very well. Thinking of selling/trading for a 5150 III. Will I regret this ???

Members schecterc1lh
Both are great, its more of what style you want, so i am going to say what i would rather have, 5153
Members LA-Ü-RA
I dug my QR. I bought a 5153 used thinking I would sell it to the other guitar player in my band. Instead he ended up with the QR. The QR is a great amp but the 5153 can get killer metal tones without a boost. Plus 3 channels=lots of versatility and they are all good. Maybe work some of that Leon Phelps Magic on her and you can add a mrak V to the mix. How important are cleans to you?
Members stompboxfreak72
Cleans not so important. The qr/nitro cleans suit my purposes although they are generic sounding.

Members magh8
If metal is more.your thing definately go with the 5153
Members thefyn
Twetally different amps. If you play live more often go QR. If you rehearse, bedroom jam and the occasional show go 5150 III. QR is stunning live. At low levels its pretty {censored}e. I tried every stick in the book but low volume jammin is much better on the 5150 III
Members stompboxfreak72
I have the Nitro also and it is my tone. The QR sounds great but I miss the low end when I play it. I am a gigging musician. I bought the QR as a backup to the Nitro and I actually never use it. The few times I have I realize it's not the right amp for the music.
