Members maiden_fan
Am I correct in thinking that I could get a DI box and run it in between my guitar and amp when recording to record the amp and DI signal for possible reamping later on? If not, how do I do this? Thanks Tony
Members NinjaRaf
Yes. This is how we just did our guitar tracks. We used the behringer gi100 or whatever that red thing is called.
Members fretless
Yes , or you can get a H&K red box or Palmer DI http://palmergear.com/pdi09.shtml or Countryman DI and run that between amp and speaker to get some amplike tones . Your method of Splitting of the signal is often a good way / ( studio standard) to record bass direct too .

Is the Behringer decent, or would you go for something higher priced if you had the choice?

Members Seano Porno
Just plug the guitar into the DI first, and then go to the amp from the Link, or Parallel output, and record amp as normal, record the DI's feed on a separate channel and there you go...an amp AND the DI recorded at the same time! Members nwright
I do this with an old Whirlwind Director DI box and it's fine. Paid 35 bucks for 2 Directors used on ebay.
