I guess I misread and misinterpreted. Derp. I'm used to people lumping them in with either thrash or death metal for whatever reason, a lot of groove-based metal gets sorta tossed into one of the two for reasons I never entirely figured out.

 

 

 

Don't know about nowadays, but when LOG first broke big it they were the most brutal band in their genre. As in - they were marketed to kids that were listening to Disturbed and other "heavy" metal. So for a lot of kids that are young, LOG might have been their introduction into heavier {censored}.

 

I'd consider them thrash, for sure, though. Thrash is about double bass and the riffs. And that's all LOG is, non-stop riffs and drums. I'd definitely consider them thrash, not death metal at all.

I can't listen to most of the stuff in this thread, but here is some amazing death metal.... I like more modern death metal as it is heavier yet actually has some groove to it. :idea:

Never heard of these guys before.

They are from Holland. Sound a bit like old school Morbid Angel. They also share members with this band:
