Members whiteop
there is a rock that was allegedly inscribed in by Vikings with Nordic runes in Heavener, Oklahoma. They say it was discovered in 1838. True? I don't know how they could realistically verify it but it's been claimed. Maybe a way to bring tourism to the area too.http://firefox.org/news/articles/1210/1/Vikings-In-Oklahoma/Page1.html

Maybe a way to bring tourism to the area too.http://firefox.org/news/articles/1210/1/Vikings-In-Oklahoma/Page1.html From what I understand, the current gold standard for viking verification is to see if it's got crude pictures of tits scrawled on it, as well as a handful "Bjorn's mother is an ox" jokes. Possibly allusions to the fact that the scrawled tits do, in fact, belong to Bjorn's mother. I don't think that rock has any of that. Ergo, fake as {censored}. Members paulintheuk
I thought it was pretty widely accepted that the Vikings had made it to America/Canada? It is fairly well documented in the sagas that they explored west of Greenland and hit land?
