Members The Anomaly
To tell you how much I've actually recorded to my computer, I still use a Line 6 guitarport in the rare occasion that I need to. I'd like to be able to record clips and songs using my Digitech GSP1101 though. So, what's a good, simple, free software recording program? Members PaoloJM
Reaper is excellent, and free to trial with no limitations. www.reaper.fm It's only 60 quid anyway so do the right thing and buy it if you like it.
Members Rydock
+1 for Reaper. Worth the price if you need a nice light, yet powerful DAW to record on.

Members Bumhucker
Reaper. Kinda complicated at first, but its a great program. I also use Audacity for the sake of simplicity. Especially if I'm using my drum machine. However with EZdrummer I'll go with Reaper.

Members Max Factor
Reaper isn't free. but it's free to try, forever. and well worth the price once you get into it. it's got my vote!
Members metalhobo
but it's free to try, forever. No, it's only free for 30 days. However, the trial is based on honor so the program doesn't actually cripple itself.

Members gspointer
I think audacity is free, I don't know how many tracks it will do, but it looks like you only want to record one at a time.

Yeah, I just want to be able to make some clips with my GSP1101, or record along to backing tracks, etc.

Members Mesa/Kramer
Wow, 14 posts and only one mention of Audacity? Audacity is the only 100% free prorgam i know of. (Reaper costs $50) It's a great starting point for anyone. http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
