Members tunesdad
i have 3 2x12's and 3 4x12's - i would like to replace the 3 4x12's with 6 assorted 2x12's, much more flexibility.
Members ledvedder
I use a custom made 2x12 with a WGS ET65 and a WGS Vet 30. Sounds great. I gig with it all the time.
Members co&cafan808
Love my ear candy 2x12. Easier to move around than a 4x12 and takes up much less space when ran vertical. My cab may not move as much air as a 4x12 but it still sounds huge.
Members ManofWar55
I've got a Recto 2x12 also. Freakin' love it.
Members crimson on pink
This is awesome to hear! I've been mauling over moving from my tall Sunn 4x12 with wgs vet30/et65s to a Whitebox 2x12 with fane 150 watt medusas. This thread is making that choice that much easier. Members Joeballz
Yea this thread has made me feel a lot better about ordering 2x12 I was about to switch it for a 4x12 but that would have costed another 300$ more and I didn't need it. Members DEADBYDAWN
You should order the brass wheels for better resonance.
Members 100 watt
I have a Marshall MF280B that only has 2x12's in it. The top 2 speaker holes are sealed up. Has 2 Eminence Delta 12 LF's in it. It's louder & bigger sounding than my Sourmash "1960 TB" (Like a Marshall 1960 TV, but straight instead of angled. 4 inches taller than a standard Marshall 1960 B cab.) loaded with 4 Mesa Black Shadows (Celestion MC-90's.). Not as bright, but that's the Delta 12 LF's (bass speakers)
Members NinjaRaf
I like 212s over 412s anyday.
Members isvoid
My original plan was to go with a 4x12 but it's probably Overkill since its only for my home.
Members framushead
Not sure if its been mentioned yet... but I use a Genz-Benz 212.. its as loud as a 412.. mainly because its ported. But I upgraded from a peavey 5150-412 cab.. which I thought was horrible. I was planning to get a 412 marshall cab and ended up with this.. for a large amount of reasons.. The guys in the band I was in at the time was like.. weird out.. until i played through it. Then they was like wow.
Members sleewell
hehehehe - i play with a 412 (closed back) AND a 212 (semi open back) overkill: abso-{censored}ing-lutely awesome: your damn right!!!!!
Members hairydangler
Unless it's a 6x12. Members Gwimlock
Love my Avatar 2x12. Loud, bassy, focused. It's only a little smaller than a 4x12, however... probably close to 2/3 the size. Still, I can move it by myself.
Members paulintheuk
Got a Marshall 2x12 that I love, definitely don't need any more than that
Members mamberg
The one thing I don't like about 2x12's is - I have to have them way up off the floor.I even have my 4x12's raised up off the floor. I really don't get 2x12's on the floor - but it is probably the size of my itsy bitsy music more than anything.
Members Keebz
I want either a Laney 2x12 with diagonal layout, or a Mesa Vertical 2x12 one of the older style cabs!
Members ACLONERANGER
I've been a 212 fan for years. Love the portability compared to a 412, not to mention with today's cab designs, they sound just as full as a 412. Boogie cabs are well built and sound monsterous,so you should be golden. Members benjamin801
I want either a Laney 2x12 with diagonal layout, or a Mesa Vertical 2x12 one of the older style cabs! Yeah, I have a diagonal 2x12 and a horizontal 2x12 (see sig for pics), now all I need is a vertical 2x12 and my collection will be complete! Would love an old Mesa half back 2x12 with the closed bottom and open top, or even one of the Peaveys or ADAs that periocially pop up cheap on ebay or CL. Members cobrahead1030
For home use a prefer a 2x12. Onstage or with a band a 4x12 is better I think, but not by much.
Members Orbis_Mortis
I my Mesa vertical 2x12, especially since I changed the speakers to a WGS Green Beret and Reaper.
Members blazingblake
2x12's can sound pretty loud and punchy and not so heavy they kill your back.
Members sleewell
Just saw mastadon, 7 full stacks for a fairly small venue. It's rock and roll people, overkill is part of the process and 100% awesome
