Question about Blackstar HT1 emulated out

It seems to me that if you're getting an emulated out, you need to consider what it's emulating. In this case a 112 or 412 cab. Normally a cab is placed post power amp so im thinking you'd be getting some kind of power tube "tap" or a representation of that as part of the emulation circuitry.

I was pretty unimpressed with the emulated out on the HT5 when I had it. I wouldn't want to use it for silent recording.

problem is, you couldn't use it for live either since it killed the speaker signal. I believe they changed that with the new model.

i would not require top quality in silent recording. it would be just to lay down ideas. if the emulated out of the blackstar is just pre-amp, i think i am going for a used marshall valvestate then. it's got tube preamp and at least i could use it live whenever i dont feel like hauling my fender bassman.
