Members Elessar [Sly]
I have an audition/rehearsal tonight with a band, but the flight case I ordered hasn't shown up What can I use to protect it? Keep in mind it is a VERY cold evening in snowy/pissy England right now. Blankets? more? less?
Members Rock Hardness
Go by a big music store, (one you frequent would help!) see if they have any empty boxes for the floor models.

Members Rock Hardness
There aren't any near where I am right now (or later on..). DIY. Go get a bunch of cardboard boxes, styrofoam pieces (or old blankets - get creative!) and duct tape. Make your own "shipping box". Wrap it with trash bags. Bring extra tape and trashbags for the trip home.
Members NinjaRaf
If youre worried about it getting snow in it, then just wrap it in a garbage bag. Ive owned a bunch of amps and never once had a case for one. Even loaded about 80% of my old bands gear into my car for every show, and nothing ever got damaged....even in rain and extreme heat and humidity. Never needed a case or to even cover the amps up. Members Zozobra
I just carry mine as is unless its pissing it down. Throw a towel over it or a bag if you're worried. Main thing is that if its going in a cold boot or the back of the van, let it warm up in the room for a good while before pugging it in and firing it up to get any condensation off it. Members almightycrunch
I live in northern Minnesota, it gets cold here, all of our band gear lives in an enclosed trailer, sits freezing in it all week long, we load into the bar setup and play, tube amps and all, never once had a problem in 30 years of this.
