Members colejustesen
I have been thinking about replacing the capacitors in my JCM900 MkIII and I have come to find that there are two options... I could go with the brand F&T or JJ... I believe the F&T are what come stock on these amps, so my initial response is to go with them. However, I was wondering if any of you guys have tried the JJ capacitor? If so, what are your thoughts? Thanks JJF&TCole
Members mikethedigimon
I replaced the caps in my JCM800 with the F&T's, they have a longer rated lifespan.
Members Weathered
I've used JJs in a couple of builds, haven't noticed any issues. I think either would work, although some people have a preference for one or the other.
Members colejustesen
Thanks for the input guys! I was wondering how much a difference in quality the JJ would be considering it is less than half the price of the F&T capacitors. Cole
Members Megadeth Man
I've had no issues with any of the JJ caps I've put in amps over the last 5-6 years. Time will tell on what their effective lifespan is compared to F&T. Pretty sure it will be longer than half.
Members colejustesen
Great, it sounds like I will be fine either way! Thanks guys!!! Cole
Members Zozobra
If you're really bothered I'd compare the data sheets for the ripple and ESR but either will be fine I'd imagine. Reminds me, I really ought to recap my superbass.
Members Slaymoar
Both are low ESR, both are fine.
