You mentioned that you chose to forego the option of inking in the little fine details on the inlay, but how hard would that to do after everything else's all said and done? Would you have to sand off the finish on the headstock or something?

 

 

I've never done it but my assumption is that you scribe the pearl after it is glued into the wood but before the lacquer is applied. There is some kind of special ink that wiped over the pearl - it fills the little channels formed by the engraving, and is wiped off the surface (kind of like the way I fill the gaps next to the pearl). Then the lacquer goes over the top and seals the ink.

Well, I cerainly don't want to miss an opportunity to flock. I vote for the pyramid bridge as well. the other is just out of place. Great job, and a very interesting photo essay. I hope you combine it all into a single "book" and put on the Annex...
