Members EvilTwin
Over the weekend, I got a pair of these for my birthday: http://www.gypsyjazz.net/prodDetail.php?catid=7&pid=1124 http://www.gypsyjazz.net/prodDetail.php?catid=7&pid=1125 If you haven't tried wood picks, I highly recommend 'em. Initially, I was kinda worried that I wouldn't like the "very pointy" shape of the picking edge, but I'll be damned if these picks didn't make me forget all about that. They're thinner than Wegens, which is exactly what I was looking for. The ebony pick is bigger and denser overall, and sounds closer to a Wegen. The rosewood pick is smaller and seems lighter, and sounds about halfway between a regular celluloid pick and a conventional gypsy jazz pick. Small investment, but they sure made me play for hours on end.

Members Stackabones
I've got the ebony, and I like it, but I don't use it. Still hanging on to my Wegens. I'll eventually make the switch. Happy NPD! I google image search "goat guitar pick."
Members simplygoodmusic
One of the nicest sounding picks for I've ever tried for ballady/chord melody jazz was an ebony one. And a late HBD.
Members eric.chambers
Yeah, I just won and ebony pick on ebay, can't wait to give it a try. As well as one made from a horseshoe crab shell. I also plan on trying some cow hoof picks. It is also NPD for me as well. Just got my package in the mail with golden gate, dawg, wegen, and redbear picks. Wooo hooo! Members EvilTwin
Thanks, guys. New picks aren't nearly as exciting as a new guitar, but hey, ya take what you can get. I've got the ebony, and I like it, but I don't use it. Still hanging on to my Wegens. I'll eventually make the switch. Happy NPD! I google image search "goat guitar pick." Nothin' wrong with Wegens. I like their "Big City" pick. But these wooden Pearse picks have really exceeded my expectations. I suppose this could work for "NPD"...
