Members Zen
What sort of music does he like? I would say the OLP or the Peavey. They both have humbuckers and are good for rock. The forums can only give you so much. Go to a music store and play the guitars and see which one you like the best.

Members xStonr
OLP or Raptor. A 13 yr old probably wants something with a hummer in it.
Members timmy210
Hmmm what about an agile ghost 2? Cheap like 160, comes with grovers, mahogany body, looks kool in black.

Members markas214
I voted OLP. It looks the coolest for a 13 year old and photoflame would be my choice. That would be the most badass out of the bunch.

Members sheepdog
he decided on that one. I think it is a good choice. It won't be a Fender Strat, but he is just starting. And if the electronics crap out, buy 2 pots and a 5 way switch and replace them. Not exactly an expensive upgrade. thanks to (almost) everyone for their help I will go home and jam on my photoflame bass now. I think it sounds great!
