Members ArrMatey
Does any of you heard of SE Electronics? I don't really see it mentioned here so I thought I'd ask. That's all
Members UstadKhanAli
I dunno. There's a lot of new, inexpensive companies making mics nowadays, and some of them seem very enticing. Apart from mics sounding good, one somehow has to determine whether the quality control and consistency is halfway decent. Or maybe not...if they're cheap enough, just go through a dozen of them and pick the best sounding one, and if it lasts five or ten years, you've more than gotten your money's worth anyway. But you know, I'm not even sure of SE Electronics. Maybe they're not a budget company, and they make really high quality stuff. I don't know much about them at all. Members UstadKhanAli
That sounds promising, and with a 7-day trial period...
Phil O'Keefe
Yeah Ken, they have one of the coolest trial offers I've ever seen - especially for a mic company.
Members Toxicpotatoe
I've been doing some side by side comparisons of the SE 3300 and the gemini with some other mics (Rode NTK, Samson, sm-57). In many cases, the sm-57 wins. pretty good for a mic that's 10 times cheaper.

I doubt I'd be reaching for a 57 instead of an NTK if I'm cutting vocals, acoustic guitar, room mic, or overheads on a drum set.
