Members boyakasha
Are Les Paul Jr.'s smaller guitars? I'm guessing they aren't, but I've never actually had confirmation. My brother is starting out on electric, and it seems like a good place to start for the price... thanks.

I seem to recall that some vintage LP Jrs. were made in 3/4 size.
Members angus_old
They're relatively small, and smaller than a regular LP, but they're still full-scale guitars Do you mean the Epiphones? The neck on those is kind of beefy, so if he has small hands you might want to get him something else. Have him try one and see how it feels. Members jerry_picker
Here is the history:http://www.provide.net/~cfh/lpjr.htmlThere were 3/4-sized ones! AKAIK, all of the current production is full-sized 24.75" scale. But hey, cash can do miracles with the custom shop.
Members GAS Man
The two that I've bought are full sized (modern versions) but since they are a thinner slab and not an arch top, they definitely have a smaller feel.

The outside body perimeter of Juniors and Specials is the same as other LPs, but they don't have the arch tops. The 3/4 size ones JP mentions are relatively rare. Members Tommy Tourbus
Interesting, I used to have one and thought it looked a little dinky. Never compared it side by side to my LP though.
Members JcKerr
LP JUNIORS ARE NOT SMALLER THAN LES PAULS... THEY ARE CALLED JUNIORS BECAUSE THEY DON'T HAVE A CARVED TOP, AREN'T AS THICK AND ONLY HAVE ONE PICKUP!
