Members Codmate
My new strat's got an ebony fingerboard Plays fine and looks good (no inlays)...
Members Danocoustic
I love the look of maple, especially as it ages. Rosewood looks and sounds good, too. But my preference is for ebony. My main Strat-style guitar is a Carvin Bolt (kit), and the ebony board is great.

Members TomcatMF
I like the feel of ebony most of all. Both my strat and les paul have ebenoy fingerboards.
Members StratTone
On the new american series guitars I say go maple all the way. They produce a way better sound IMHO and are made better. The Rosewood they use on the new american Standards is below par if you ask me. Now if you are going for a different market like CS guitars you just can't beat Ebony. Members Peter Griffin
Both. It depends on the finish of the guitar. I have a silver-burst strat that would look funny with a maple board. My traditional tri-burst looks perfect with maple.
