Members peavey_impact
Yeah, looks like Bill Lawrence to me. I remember Frank Zappa used to play a yellow strat with a Floyd Rose and those pickups. I could be wrong though.

What pickups have you ever seen that purposely have the coils exposed? Quarter Pounders don't have covers, but have tape around them.
Members Frankenstrat
I have some DiMarzios that looked like that when the covers were taken off.

I have Quarter Pounders so I know what you mean. I just don't know why anyone would take the tape off unless they were made that way.

Exposed coils are never a good idea because you can get a string caught under the top of the bobbin and sever part of the coil. That's not fun. The Hot Stack has covers. Interestingly enough, if you look closely, you can see the Seymour Duncan S on the pickups as in this picture. http://media.zzounds.com/media/brand,zzounds/stk-t2-e987f5ae96738ed9c2b98f5a31fca6c1.jpg

LOL To the OP: Whoever that guitar belongs to... Tell them to order some covers from goold ol' Seymour before he only ends up with a working bridge PU. They put a silver Duncan logo on those, so it might be washed out in the photo.
