(up top there, it's a ~5 watter, mostly a champ clone, with some extra bells and whistles)

What are the "extra bells and whistles"?

I'm in the process of building one, and am curious to see what you got!

No photos, but I've got...

Smokey (the deluxe, plastic bodied one, in glittery purple)

Squier Sidekick (IIRC 9.5 RMS)

My Bass amp is a Vox T-25..... damn loud for playing at home, and I reckon would be fine for a gig mic'ed if i ever needed to do that

Oh..... my main amp is a Vox AD120VT, it ain't small physically, but most of the time i play it set to 2x1w...... that count? damn but it can get loud cranked on some of the models even at that low setting.....

That's funny you mention the Matamp! My buddy is back in England and just emailed me this morning to tell me he was going to their shop to check out amps today!:thu:

Sounded bigger, more dynamic, with more gain when turned up, EL34 tubes as well, the 30 watter is EL84's and while I love EL84's I already have them in my Mesa. I wont be playing in my bedroom forever (I'm actualy playing in my homestudio that I am putting together), its just that until I finish my degree I dont really have time to gig. After that I have several gigs lined up for me where I will need that big amp. (like outdoor metal shows where I can really crank it and let that orange sound come out:love: )

Oh right i see. I long to have an orange one day, along with a deluxe reverb to take the place of my blues junior. Since the first time i played an orange they have been my dream amp for rockier stuff.

Also have a Sunn Concert Lead head, a Fender Pro 185 2x12 combo, and a G-K 400RB for bass.

Some of the guitars I use through them:

Gibson Faded SG in Worn Cherry:

it's has a different tone stack (FMV style low-mid-treble), a filter choke, and it's switchable between pentode and triode modes (triode knocking the output down to 2 or 3 watts, rather than 5 or 6; but I prefer the tone of it running in pentode mode, so it spends 99% of the time like that anyway)

VERY impressive collections, guys! Anyone have or know anything about the old Vox AC4? Also...what was the smallest tube amp Marshall made?

The AC4 doesn't sound very Voxy, I've read. Also one keeps coming on ebay with a $1200 BIN that never sells

I've seen it! Funny how some things on Ebay are incredible bargains or hidden gems, and other things are consistently over-priced crap!

What about the Vox escort? Opinions? Value?

It's a Torres Engineering Boogie Mite. It's about 3 Watts

and comes in a version that's 5. All tube and it's got

some nice features for a tiny amp. Sounds great and I can

turn it up to 10 in the house :) But it's still LOUD.

They also make a 1 Watt tube amp. All the specs are on

thier web page.

Reading some reviews, I take it some people don't care for

Dan Torres. I live about 10 minutes away from them and

he seemed nice enough to me.
