I was looking for local musicians( I lived in a small village) to work on a project. This guy Sito reacted and we became friend. We lost track after 5 years and we never spoke again. I'm living in a different city now and I'm going on a little tour with a guitarplayer. We're playing rockabilly and bluessongs without a p.a. I was looking on a musicianswebsite and saw an ad,.....guitarplayer seeks band. No name,..nothing. I send an email and to my surprise...... Sito mailed me back and asked me how I'm doing.... For most of us, though, our circle of travel is small. Even if we jet around the world, we have our *places*. So, your odds are greatly reduced. Add to that a unique communication medium (Internet) focus to a specific group (forum) for a specific thing (guitar player), and you have a much smaller group of people to weed through. (that probably didn't come out right) The first site that came up was set up by a hearing specialist that lives and works ten miles down the road from me. I played guitar in a band befor you were even born. I was a decent bass player in another band and a more than decent drummer in a third band. Now does that qualify me as a musician? We cut some Rockabilly tracks the first time we meet.....Just raw unrehearsed Rock n roll,..... You name the songs and we make sure we know them.
