Members Ernest Buckley Posted August 18, 2005 Members Posted August 18, 2005 Every month, I send out a monthly newsletter via the Internet using the Mail Application in OS X. It seems that every time I send out the email, no one gets it. I get an error message saying that I am sending out too many emails. Odd... Anyone else have this issue? If so, what did you do do fix it? Thanks.
Members Jeff da Weasel Posted August 18, 2005 Members Posted August 18, 2005 What does this error message say exactly? Is it in a reply email, or something that pops up in the Mail application? I've used OS X Mail for a few years without ever running into this problem. - Jeff
Members Billster Posted August 18, 2005 Members Posted August 18, 2005 I'm going to go out on a limb and say the message is coming from your ISP's SMTP server. Can you break your distribution list into smaller groups, like A-F, G-P, Q-Z? I've spammed my entire address book a few times and never got such a message.

That's where I was going. There's no limits of this kind that I'm aware of in Mail, so his ISP must have a spam police filter on the SMTP server. Do what Bill said. - Jeff
Members phaeton Posted August 18, 2005 Members Posted August 18, 2005 Ditto Bill and Jeff. Post a screenshot or quote of the message, if you can, but chances are it's coming from the SMTP mailserver. Breaking it up into chunks is the easiest way to do it.
Members The Audio Cave Posted August 18, 2005 Members Posted August 18, 2005 It's coming from your ISP. To send out bulk mail like that from most ISP's is gonna require a business account. I can't do it from my DSL email box but I can do it from my webhosting account email box. Same ISP. Lawrence
Members Ernest Buckley Posted August 18, 2005 Author Members Posted August 18, 2005 I`ll try sending it from my website email account. Thanks for the advice.
