Members blackpig
I've just downloaded some Tony Rice bluegrass guitar and am near to tears with joy. I dare anyone to listen to this stuff and then try and tell me there's no God.
Members bbach
That's a pretty strong send off. I'm going to have to give a listen. Thanks Black.

I liked Tony's playing for years, but I usually like the people he plays with better.
Members crawdad
I THOUGHT I could play a Martin pretty well until I heard Tony. He's fantastic.
Members Frantag
If you like Tony Rice, give a listen to Bryan Sutton, David Grier or Sean Watkins. I also like Tim Stafford, Chris Thile on mandolin and the band Psychograss.

Humbling to say the least.
Members Jimbroni
I recently downloaded "The Pizza Tapes" a recording with Tony Rice, Jerry Garcia, and David Grisman. I dig it. I definitely want to check out more Tony Rice.

Dan Crary is another picker you would like. Bepe Gambata is another. Dan Crary has a CD entitled "Jammed if I do" that has Tony Rice, and Doc Watson, as well as Bepe Gambata on it in "duets". Very good CD. Have you heard "Brian Sutton"? He is another Monster picker. How about Nickle Creek?.....The new album "Why should the fire die" is all about good pickin' and the songs are strong as well. OB~
Members blackpig
Don't forget Russ Barenberg - a guitarist of a similar ilk but with a more contemporary, jazzy slant. I had an album of his years ago but lent it to someone and never got it back. I might buy it again now that I think of it.
Members UstadKhanAli
I'll keep an ear out for him. He was on the Old and In The Way stuff? That stuff sounds really great.
Members Jimbroni
He was on the Old and In The Way stuff? Not unless he was sitting in for a rare track. Peter Rowan was the guitarist for Old and In the Way. The Pizza tapes with Grisman and Garcia were recorded around the time just before Jerry died, during the Shady Grove sessions. The material is good though.
