Members curseoftruth
I found this site with a bunch of choices: http://www.thegaragedoor.com/home/free.html But I wanted to see if there were some recommendations from my fellow HCEG bothers and sisters. All I want to do is lay down some tracks from my drum machine and then lay over some guitar. Pure, crap sounding demo quality just so the rest of my band can have some stuff to work with so they can be prepared each practice. I have it set up now where I can mic stuff and bring it into the computer through the {censored}ty Windows Recorder, but just something a little better with minor editing capabilities. Members ArKay
Audacity is easy to use and free. http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ Reaper is more advanced (maybe overkill) and shareware.http://reaper.fm/ Kristal is free and a little more advanced.http://www.kreatives.org/kristal/ Start with Audacity and see if it's good enough. Members curseoftruth
I thought Audacity looked like the easiest to use. Just downloaded. Thanks guys, you rock as usual! I'll post the stuff out at Soundclick just to give some ideas of the stuff we are doing which with our Maynard clone vocalist, is sounding like Sabbath meets Tool. But what I'll post is just {censored}ty snippets of me over a drum machine for the guys to download and write parts for. We are all older guys so our practice time is limited, so lots of homework to do on our own.
Members ArKay
Well, it's a little lacking in the editing area (no super fancy user interfaces for the effects), but multi-track recording is very easy to do. Good luck
Members randombastage
Reaper is an amazing value considering it cost's nothing to try it out, also the Riffworks demo is capable of doing what you want and it's really easy to learn how to use it.
