Members Mad Hatter
Ok, I'm looking for guitars that have a fairly fat neck, fatter than a strat, and about the scale length of a Les Paul, that I can find in the $300-600 range

Members Mad Hatter
hmm yeah, I also want two humbuckers, and I want a decent tremolo, and it must stay in tune or I will shoot it.

Are you thinking something more like a stratish trem, or a bigsby?

Members Mad Hatter
Are you thinking something more like a stratish trem, or a bigsby? Strat trem is fine, I don't know much about tremolo, whatever is a good one that stays in tune and doesn't break strings all the time is fine with me. WHICH guitars have a wide, C or U shaped, not too fat just like a strat, just wider, and the scale length of a Les Paul? Or do I get them custom? I have a strat which I like, but for some things I would like a bit wider neck than a strat and a shorter scale length like a les paul.

Members gtrjones
LP scale length, fattish neck, good trem, 2 buckers. That's not easy to find. What *I* would think about is kind of a custom mashup. Squier or MIM body, good warmoth neck, good wilkenson tremelo, and then whatever pickups/pickguard you want/need. You *might* get something like that for about 600, if you really shop around. Body $100 Neck $250 Bridge $100 Pre-wired pickguard $200 Misc - nut, tuners, assembly, setup? $

Careful folks, i suspect the OP mayhaps poisoned our tea! :poke: Mad Hatter, have you considered Ibanez guitars? Wizard necks are quite wide but not thick, they come with HB's and with strat like bodys and trems. The only problem with those are the scale, they usually are 25,5 scale.
