Members revoloution9
Ok so first post . I'm looking to get a guitar that will give me that classic 60's single coil, shimmery sound, or perhaps Britpop would be more accurate. I kind of want the sort of sound Johnny Marr had, or the guitarest from the Stone Roses. Here's the challenge; i have a budget of about 500$, tops at that (give me a break i'm 15). Now i don't know what this entails exactly but i have an idea. Originally i was thinking a Casino but that was before I had to do a repair on my other guitar. So now i'm thinking of perhaps getting this; http://www.guitarcenter.com/Ibanez-Artcore-AF75-Electric-Guitar-102567724-i1150604.gc Then installing a pair of p90's or other single coil. Would you advise this? What brand of pickups should i get? Any other suggestions entirley. If i can't come up with a solution i was thinking maybe a tele standard. Oh, and i know about the dot and i don't think its for me. Any help would be great.

Members IRG
I just picked up a new MIK Casino, and I flat out love it. Different though, than the Ibanez you linked. The Casino can give you shimmery tones, and when you add some overdrive to it, it flat out wails. If you can pick up a used MIK model, it might be just what you're after. It is a full hollow though, so feedback can occur, depending on how and where you play. This isn't a quiet guitar, some noise with the P-90s, but overall the tone is very soulful. Teles are great too, but will be significantly different from the Casino or that Ibanez. Best to try out a few and see what suits you best.
