Members larry50 Posted May 31, 2008 Members Share Posted May 31, 2008 I think Fender sort of invented the two tone and threee tone burst paint jobs, at least on electrics, but they've resisted the more flamboyant bursts that Gibson and others use in their standard lines (the Gecko burst is repulsive). I think there are still only three standard Fender bursts, the two tone, the three tone, and the Cherry burst in the new American Standard line. The Fender standard three tone burst is still my favorite. All of the Gibson bursts are just variations of the original Fender two tone and three tone bursts.
