Members blue2blue
I'd say that "Let's Dance" and "Tonight" qualify since they came on the heels of Scary Monsters and his "Berlin" period. He still hasn't come out with a big band standards album. I don't think... Though Pinups and Young Americans kind of felt like it... Bowie kind of sets himself up to sort of reinvent himself every 4 to 7 years or so, I think. But still no Bowie Does the Gershwin Songbook. Well... he's still young... Members blue2blue
Bowie's more inclined to record "German Art Songs of the Late 19th Century for the Whole Family" He did that BBC version of Brecht's Baal. I haven't seen it -- but I just found it on YouTube -- or at least 3 chunks of it. I'm on my way. I have the EP, I think, which only had about 5 or 6 songs, I think. ____________________________ I have a new one -- kinda: The Swingle Singers They took two things that were seen as all but unsellable to the mainstream pop audience -- jazz and baroque music and came up with a formula that was both eminently exploitable but all but bottomless in its wealth of material.
