Members Professor Tom
Steve Cropper is playing with the remnants of The Animals at Dingwalls and Big Star are playing at the Shepherds Bush Empire. None are sold out so far either. The question is which one to go for, at the moment I'm leaning towards Steve Cropper ?
Members musicmaker '55
Steve Cropper ...by all means! Perhaps my choice has a lot to do with not knowing much about Big Star. I know that they have been around since '72 and that Alex Chilton, formerly of the Box Tops was Big Star's vocalist as well as a guitarist and that the Replacements paid homage to Big Star with a song. That's about it. Steve on the other hand... First, he oozes R & B. Starting with an amazing run with Booker T and the M.G.'s; '62's Green Onions, house band for the Stax/Volt label, wrote "Sittin on the Dock on the Bay", a huge hit for Otis Redding, a SIGNATURE style of playing guitar.... and on and on and.... Members Jkater
If MHUK was playing and I was in London today, that's the one I'd go to.
Members mustang5
I'd say Mr Cropper. Wish I could make it but instead I'm off to see Gomez tonight in Sheffield.

Members Professor Tom
Which bits of animals is he playing with? I think the drummer and guitar player, I'm not sure if Eric Burdon and Alan Price are involved (doubtful) but you never know. I tried ringing the venue to find out but there was as is normal during the day no reply.

Members Professor Tom
Full report by the weekend, please. Sure, if I can get in that is. The last time I was in Dingwalls I passed out in the dressing room at an after gig gettogether and had to be carried out but that was a long time ago when I was young and stupid as opposed to being old and stupid.
