Members UstadKhanAli
Personally, i don't consider Nirvana 'Bleach" or Kyuss "Sky Valley" or The Cure "Disintegration" or the Foo Fighters to be lo-fi at all.

Members UstadKhanAli
Well, okay. Nirvana "Bleach" most certainly is lo-fi. I should be safe now. Thanks!

Members the stranger
Personally, i don't consider Nirvana 'Bleach" or Kyuss "Sky Valley" or The Cure "Disintegration" or the Foo Fighters to be lo-fi at all. Somebody mentioned The Stones as being lo-fi. And this struck others here as odd. I think what you have here is two different types of lo-fi. 1. DRI "Dealing With It" - Sounds like it was produced on a boombox in a bedroom. But, it kicks ass. Yes, it sounds terrible...but I love it. But, DRI went on to much better sounding productions. So, they were a band that was recorded lo-fi. 2. Kyuss is a good example of the opposite. This is what I would consider a lo-fi band that was recorded in hi-fidelity. I think The Stones would fit that category. Lo-fi sound, hi-fi recording. 3. DK (Dead Kennedys) - The third type: Lo-fi band recorded in lo-fi. For some reason your post struck a lightning bulb, and made me remember how much I used to love The Minutemen. A definite 3 type.
