Members tlbonehead
I wouldn't. I'm guessing they have different parameters. Peavey's site use to describe the BW models. Did you check there?
Members 6Imzadi
I don't know what the 1801 would be, but the 1888 is the high powered black widow driver for the DTH speaker boxes. It is 8 ohm and can handle peak of 1600 watts.
Members Dookietwo
Does anyone know what the difference in these two speakers are ? and could I use them in the same cab ? Thanks I owned 4 of the dth218b subs that had the 1888 in them. They were 500 watt rms with the 1801s at 350 rms. A short lived line of woofers from peavey. The Low Rider came out shortly after. Check their spec's to see if they are close. Shouldn't be a problem if they are. Dookietwo

Members Dookietwo
Is the 1888 a BW or BWX? http://www.peavey.com/assets/literature/manuals/80302409.pdf In the Dth218b it was a BWX. Just a higher powered speaker compared to the BW. Dookietwo

If I recall correctly, the BW and BWX magnets/baskets are interchangeable, but not the Low Riders. Is that correct?
Members 6Imzadi
It's a Peavey 1888 hp bwx So would it work with a low rider in the same 2-18 sub ? I did exactly that. The only problem I have encountered is that the 18 that is rear firing will touch the grill in the front. No harm in that, however. The 218's are much happy with a half of qsc 3402 on each speaker. So two amps for a pair of 218's.

Members tlbonehead
The magnet in the low rider is not compatible with the bwx model basket. which is 1/2 of what I stated. The other half is that I believe they are interchangeable between the BW and BWX. But I'm not positive.
