Members Howie22
Played an outdoor wedding last night. Knew there was a possibility of rain, so we were keeping watch. We were on a covered porch, but our subs, speakers, and lights were uncovered out in front of is. As the best man was giving his speech, the temp dropped and wind started blowing. Told the guy wrap it up quick and we started pulling stuff in. Managed to get everything unplugged and all the gear moved to shelter before the storm started, but all of our cables got soaked. Power cords, extension cords, mic cables, instrument cables , lighting cables, etc. Kept them separated and laid them out in my garage to dry last night. Hope everything still works. Going to test them one by one on an inexpensive piece of equipment.
Members Vito Corleone
The last time my cables got that wet was when I was hosing off all the beer spilled on them.....
Members agedhorse
Should be ok. Good to dry them out the way you did
Members dboomer
I wouldn't expect any long term damage to them as long as you reasonably wiped them down and left them to dry before using them again.
Members Pro Sound Guy
Do not pack wet cables in road cases. Roll them all up and put them in the trailer or back of your rig.stretch them out the next morning and let them air dry. Your good to go!Assuming the connectors are not soaked. Members Howie22
At my next gig, everything seemed to work fine. I can't say that I've used every cable, but I didn't have any issues with those that I did use
