  • Do you like playing better at night or during the day?

I'm wondering what your preference is: day or night when it comes to playing, and why.

It makes no difference at all.

      Why would it?

I play much more at night. Partly because that's when I have more free time. But also I seem to feel more inspired in the quiet of the late evening/wee hours. I'm much more likely to come up with some new idea for a song late at night, or right when I wake up in the pre-dawn--like maybe the idea was connected to a dream.

She's the lady of the light
    Yellow incandescent night
    Tiger eyes burning bright
    In the understory
    I can't see the forest
For the branches and the leaves
    But I believe
    I do believe
    by me:

"Music is your own experience, your thoughts, your wisdom. If you don't live it, it won't come out of your horn."
    Charlie Parker

I'm probably best in the morning...have no idea why.

Guess I fatigue as the day goes on.

.I do get inspired by music I listen to, so for that matter I can be creative anytime. But Saturday/Sunday morning is my favorite playing time.

I like playing better whenever it happens.

I play equally poorly in the day or at night.  I prefer playing around 5PM right now.  I don't have any idea why.

I sing better at night, after my voice is warmed up from talking all day.
