Plenty of us like them, but it may be the fact that maple necks coincide with N*rl*ns:mad: They're very {censored}ing stable and can hold a very very low action, even in ponds
Members abstract
...even in pondsThat's good.I was contemplating buying one, and tossing it in a pond for some troll to find. With different p'ups and electronics, at the right price, would you own one? Members Brewski
maple necks on Les Pauls is just wrong. They have to be Mahogany, its the law! You should never deviate from the original design....ever. BTW - two of my AL LP style guitars have maple necks and they play great. so do the mahogany ones. the difference is the mahogany ones are slightly darker in tone. Members cratz2
I've always wanted an LP that was natural maple/natural maple with black inlays, black binding and a black pickguard. But I've only seen like five of them in my lifetime while if I go into Guitar Center and turn left, I'll literally trip over 30 LPs with ebony or or rosewood boards. Is there a thread on maple neck LP hate that I missed? Members Motorcycle
A Les with a maple board is cool and I'd love one. But, it's not a Les Paul in the classic sense. Neither is a chambered one, nor a Supreme. They may be excellent guitars, but, to me, they're not Les Paul's, at least in the classic sense. They're something else again. Not bad - different.
