  • We are such liars!!!

    On Craigslist! :robot:

We say: It's a great guitar but I haven't been able to bond with it and rather than let it sit around going unplayed, I'd rather find it a home where it'll be appreciated.

We mean: This guitar sucks monkey ball sweat!! I must have been drunk when I bought it. Bail me out here!! :manembarrassed:

I don't know. The last time I listed a guitar, I actually loved the guitar and it was the only one I had that was really worth selling.

I needed the money to fund an amp purchase and put that in the listing.

Lol.  I just sold a guitar, but it really did sound and play great.  But I don't think I said anything else in my ad other than the specs.

I actually agree with both the non-bonding sentiment and the excess GAS sentiment. It just seems so funny to try to read between the lines. One man's junk is another man's treasure. But mostly, you can actually have issues with an excellent guitar that someone else wouldn't have.

When I first built this one, I didn't 'bond' with it. I tried several different strat pups, no soap. Then I got a free pair of Mean 90's and decided to try them in this guitar. After all, I was gonna get rid of it. I started playing the phuck out of it using just the bridge pup. So that's what I made it into. It's now my go to guitar. So much so I'm thinking about getting rid of all the others

I'd buy a guitar from you, frets. Unless it's a Firebird X :cop:

Not always the case.  Sometimes guitars work much better for genres that ain't your bag.

I could name several in my herd.  But unlike most rational people, I hoard mine.

A '57 Classic, MIJ from USA parts.
HCEG Existentialism: I buy guitars, therefore, I am.
Well Dick, it's got a good beat, and I could dance to it, so I give it a 10!
I have opinions of my own, strong opinions but I don't always agree with them.

I've sold a few great sounding and playing guitars with that description.

I don't think I've ever sold or bought something that didn't play great, just something that I no longer used.  I always try to keep my numbers low and only the essentials that I truly play daily, so if something doesn't fit that criteria it goes.
