    Tell me what you see!

What you hear is an odd combo of Casio VL-1 groove and gaddish 50ways drumming with some Omnisphere synth on top

    • Here's a new track using a brand-new synth -

A demo I made for the Moog Taurus 3.

All synth sounds are Taurus 3 except for one sorta pad-like guy that is a Little Phatty thru reverb. All sounds & arrangement by me except for the breakbeats by my friend JWah in Portland. Mixed by Kevin Lamb.

enjoy, and turn up the bass

now this is how you do it.

if you have the word 'tiger' in your band name, the least you can do is make references to that animal in every song you write. i am pleased that you do this, especially the tiger roaring samples.

          thank you for this music.

This time I'm playing something more modern... a cross between modern House, Joy Division/New Order, Minimalistic, and '70s Tomitesque stuff- basically a big meltingpot of genres, but I think it's rather hypnotic

Moog Memorymoog = all synthesizer parts

              Yamaha TX16W = choir

              Recorded/edited/mixed in Sonar 8 pe

Jeezus! that MM sounds great. I like the melting pot of genres, too. Really good stuff.
current synths: Andromeda A6, Sequential Pro One, Roland MKS-80, Roland MKS-30, Roland JD-990, TR-606, TR-707, Minimax ASB, Blacet Modular, MFB Kraftzwerg, Spectralis, Motif Rack

              • Hi all,

Here's my latest song - Imaginary Friend.

I'd be very interested to hear what you think of it.

                Some facts for the curious:

Completely uncharacteristically for me, the song was completely planned before I recorded a single note.

I wrote the words before the song.

It is all played on hardware.

The average age of the hardware used is approx 22.5 years.

Thanks And thanks for acquainting me with Wolfsheim. I didn't know them before.

For the curious - my song is all played on an Emu Emax II and a Roland JX-8P, and recorded in Reaper.

                        Hi all,

I uploaded a new version of the song, with much tighter vocal timing and a few other minor tweaks. The link is unchanged: http://alonetone.com/danielb/tracks/imaginary-friend

                        • I had the pleasure to work with the very talented and hotlooking Shanti Snyder on her first album.

                            Really, really good, Hans!!

Sounds like a more lively version of Sade

Love the groovy '80s saxophones and the jazzy electric piano!

She's very talented, and so are you obviously... The sound is fantastic

What did you use for this music? It sounds nice, tight and professionally mastered.... did you record it ITB ?

Do I spot use of autotune in certain parts?

                            Great job...

                            • Thanks a lot!

there is some autotune because Shanti liked it for the remix.

The raw tracks (vocals, Rhodes, guitar&bass) were recorded in Paris. I added the electronic stuff (Stylus RMX and some Atmosphere) at my place and mixed ITB. Mastering was done in Paris i think.

Wow - the more I listen to your song, the more I like it!

For Paris you mean the classic E-mu/Ensoniq recording system - not a recording studio in the City Of Lights - I presume? If you're talking about the E-mu system: it sounds great I have to say.... I don't know much about it and if I remember correctly, it didn't make it on the market... but it sounds like a really high-quality system.

Re: Stylus and Atmosphere: I've been a fan of Eric Persing since the days of the D-50, and I really need to get my hands on Atmosphere or Omnisphere one of these days..... those sounds (presumably, from Atmosphere) are top notch
