Speaker wires (read cables) physically and electrically attach the speakers to the audio amplifiers. These wires help to send the audio signals from the amplifier to the speakers. Speaker cables usually consist of 2 copper conductors (inner stranded). Each of them is entwined with the fillers and enclosed with insulation. There is an external jacket to provide a secured cover. The other different wires incorporated in these cables are of gold, silver and aluminum. The resistance and prices fluctuate depending on the form of wires. Copper is the least expensive and the most common one. Copper, silver and aluminum wires tend to be oxidized but the gold wires are not.
