Felt weird to stop when people were still dancing and having a good time, but 1 AM is what we were hired for. Maybe just as well. I feel like crap today. Good thing, as another gig has popped up for Friday. This is an odd one for this band: no pay. Our bandleader is a member of the Elks' Lodge, and the next town over just chartered a new lodge. They're having a party to celebrate, state officials are coming down and so on. We'll be playing for dinner and drinks, with the hope of getting a house band gig at the new lodge.
