Members Yoozer
Korg MicroKorgKorg Micro-X (actually quite a different machine but very compact)Roland SH-201 (not so much compact but relatively small and light-weight)Novation XioSynth (really bloody small, works as a controller keyboard too)Novation K-Station Do realize that techno is not so much what you use - more how you use it. The reason the vintage/subtractive stuff is associated with it is because it was dirt cheap at that time.

Members gdh
the Emu kyds with Rob Papen's Techno and Beat Roms would be fairly inexpensive and are lightweight. The kybd is usually cheaper than the Roms inside them.

The Casio CZ series is really cool, btw. The CZ-1000 (same as 101 but with standard keys) was my first synth. There is one particular sound from the CZ that has become a classic techno/electro/dance sound, the preset 06 ELEC.ORGAN- if you listen to tracks from the '90s you will recognize it. Members Paolo Di Nicolantonio
I'd like to add that for techno/electro/dance, besides a synth, you will greatly benefit from a sampler. Therefore, I would look at a used keyboard that incorporates both a synth and sampler engine. The Yamaha EX5 is arguably the best choice, a Kurzweil K2000 would be very good too. A little more expensive on the used market would be a Roland Fantom-S. If you don't mind having two separate pieces, for very cheap you could get a Roland alpha-Juno 2 synth (for bass, pads, and leads - hoover, and as a controller), and an older Akai sampler for samples/effects...
