Members Tomkeen
Hi, When I get my next paycheck, I want to buy an external effects processor. I hate the reverb on my Fusion, and I'd like a better compressor too. I did some research, and want to choose between these two: Lexicon Mx-200 AND TC electronic M350 Anyone had any experience with these two? Any input is welcome
Members mypetsleep
i am currently using a lexicon mx200 and i must say the reverbs are better than anything i've tried so far. you have the ability to apply 2 different effects at the same time and can even control the unit as a plug-in via your DAW software! beats the pants off of anything else for $200. Members Tomkeen
Thanks, I thought that would be the better one... Noone else any experience with these?
Members Khazul
IMHO both TC and lexicon reverbs are as good as each other at any price point. At the bottom end, then maybe TC have the edge, but they are different algorythms - and which anyone tends to prefer at any time is down to context and taste. If you can, you need one of each. BTW - I dont really count the low end lexicons as proper lexicons anyway - not even sure the algorthyms in them are even derived from the higher end units - they still sound good for the money though Worth considering the Kurzweil rumor and TC M-OneXL as well, though are more expensive. The M-One is to my mind the best reverb at that price point - but tastes vary.
Members Tomkeen
Well I want to go to NYC this year, so I don't have that much money to spend.. I don't make a lot of money XD
Members ElectricPuppy
I have the MX200. It's fine bread-and-butter effects unit. There's 4 routings possible of the 2 effects modules. They can be run independently, or routed serially, or 2 other combinations that escape me at the moment. I mostly run mine serial. No complaints. Not the most exciting piece of gear, but it does the job.
Members Khazul
Hmmm - I would suggest go somewhere sunny and get an eventide eclipse with the money saved in that case NYC is overrated...
Members Diametro
Not if you like great architecture, museums, food and more ... I've had a great time every time I've been there ...
Members Sparkytfl
I've been wanting one of those for a while. I haven't been able to choose, that's the only reason I haven't bought one yet. I also look forward to some comprehensive opinions. The VST plugin thing seems to make the decision lean to the Lex. Members Yoozer
I have the M300 which can be picked up secondhand easily for 100-130 euros (Tom: check synthforum.nl , I think there's one there right now). The M350 dropped the very nice Tape Delay and I don't know if that much is actually "improved" or if it's just an mkII in a prettier package with a VST editor. Members eminor9
or you can get this. Mid-range efx unit (say Lexicon MPX1 equivalent) for peanuts. I have this and the high-end DPSV77 (new price was EUR 2000/2500 when released) which I picked up for less than EUR 500. Read the reviews on HC Efx. They don't lie. And you'll have some extra cash for NY
Members Tomkeen
Thanks for the replies guys Yoozer, I'll check synthforum.nl later today, I used to have an account there.. Wonder if it still works About NY, it's just something I really want to do for a long time, and I don't exactly know why... It just seems so cool (I do like great architecture and food). And it'll get sunny over here eventually anyway, in a few months or so.
