His behavior was seen as abusive and was the reason he was banned. Participation in the forum means that you ascribe your self to certain code of conduct, same as any other organization or place of business. We get allot of relative freedom here, more than your average workplace. We all agree with and place a heavy value on self moderation; that includes the poster as well as the viewer. Though, if i remember he decided he was too busy to be a mod, so i guess reserve vote would go to Carbon111, also very helpful and knows tech stuff - very competent to merge "different" threads, etc. that are actually about the same stuff. Obviously a lot of us had no problem with Drool but there's no way to gainsay Gus or Paolo's decision, however ill conceived I personally think it was. Our mods are both swell guys and, just like any of my friends, I don't always expect to see eye-to-eye. Most of the time, sure...but not always They are the mods and I respect them for the extremely tough job they do. It's hard and thankless and there will never be a decision that everyone likes. I'm a mod for nine forums (eight at NI and the Camel Audio forum at KVR), and no- a lot of days it isn't fun. I thought the choices were good ones myself. I agree the whole thread is pretty damn ridiculous and juvenile but so was the behavior of the offending parties. My motives were not pure but we're all human and do things we shouldn't. I am a mod on another (non-music) forum, and I agree, it isn't much fun.
