Tony Robbins was banned for posting multiple on topic threads that made little sense and were obvious hoaxes; he was warned several times over. His behavior was seen as abusive and was the reason he was banned.

Participation in the forum means that you ascribe your self to certain code of conduct, same as any other organization or place of business. We get allot of relative freedom here, more than your average workplace. We all agree with and place a heavy value on self moderation; that includes the poster as well as the viewer.

I didn't particularly agree with your thread, but the mods let it slide. They can't be all that bad can they?

Seems to me no extra eyes are needed. Just different ones.

Quoted for truth.

So, uh, this is where, like, Gus and Paolo, er, hand over the reigns, amirite? A brief changeover period where KSS has double the moderation? The last thing this place needs is more moderation...

I mean, all things in moderation, right?

What... not voting?

I'd vote Yoozer for helping a lot - to everyone. Though, if i remember he decided he was too busy to be a mod, so i guess reserve vote would go to Carbon111, also very helpful and knows tech stuff - very competent to merge "different" threads, etc. that are actually about the same stuff.

EDIT:

Hey, if there's search for Mod

being a mod is not fun nor is it usually the domain of power hungry goons.

its a pain in the ass and gives minimal recognition.

being a mod on another very active forum, i have some idea on the subject.

those 2 seem to be level headed and there can't be a "vote"

best of luck

Hey, Plaid and Cydonia! You two be nice now!

^^ an example of "carbon111 moderation style"

...I'd hate to be a mod but thanks for the vote of confidence , Don. Most appreciated! :)

Obviously a lot of us had no problem with Drool but there's no way to gainsay Gus or Paolo's decision, however ill conceived I personally think it was. Our mods are both swell guys and, just like any of my friends, I don't always expect to see eye-to-eye. Most of the time, sure...but not always ;)

They are the mods and I respect them for the extremely tough job they do. It's hard and thankless and there will never be a decision that everyone likes. You couldn't pay me to do their job!

I raise my glass to the mods. Cheers to Gus and Paolo!

This.

I'm a mod for nine forums (eight at NI and the Camel Audio forum at KVR), and no- a lot of days it isn't fun.

I thought the choices were good ones myself. Best of luck, guys :)

....I really should try and restrain myself....

I agree the whole thread is pretty damn ridiculous and juvenile but so was the behavior of the offending parties. My motives were not pure but we're all human and do things we shouldn't. The Moderators won't hurt my feelings if they want to delete it.

I am a mod on another (non-music) forum, and I agree, it isn't much fun. That said, it isn't a PITA to me either, and overall, it's OK.

cheers,

Ian

Thanks for the hard critics and for the kudos, you all

Being a moderator may be a thankless job and some of our decisions are hardly popular. Still, remember that we are here to serve the community and to keep Harmony Central's best interests safe. And you can be sure that having a messy forum full of bullys is not what HC has in mind.

Still, is a fun ride and after all these years I don't think the balance is negative.

Now, to keep the ride being as cool as possible, we are now welcoming ElectricPuppy and Flat Earth to the team. They have now access to the company's private jet and party Island, plus dental care.
