Post quick reply versus advanced

This irritates me to no end to have the default setting set at post quick reply.

Is there any way of changing the default?

Too many times I start replying and realize I want to add an emoticon or a link, image, etc, and then I have to stop and go into advanced.

It used to be set at advanced which covers both a quick reply and more advanced options....why have two?

I'd like to know how other's feel, maybe we can get it changed back.

Silly stuff on Friday I know.

I don't think the quick reply ever provided the full set of options that the Advanced page does...
:idk:

Not sure what you're asking, I guess.

Maybe my memory is failing me, but in the days before the big changes, when you clicked on reply or reply with a quote you immediately went to a reply page with the emoticons and the options for image, links etc.

Now it goes right to quick reply and you have to do an additional click to get those options.

At least that's what I remember:idk:

At any rate if that is incorrect I'm very embarassed and will shrug it off to stress and old age.

The advantage of the current set up is you can reply with quote without leaving the thread...

We have a better set of choices now...

I don't recall emoticons on the old system for quick reply, it was not till you replied ''with quote'' which took you out of the thread into advanced reply with the thread below. Thereby stopping a you tube or moving away from the person your replying to in a long thread which most people don't like...

So quit yer moaning partner ... LOL

Actually, I want something in between Quick Reply and Advanced Reply. I mean, from simply "Quick" to "Advanced" seems like a pretty darn big leap to me, and if I can't have an option in between like "Basic Reply" I am going to maintain that the new forum is not user friendly, and that it sucks, and that the mods are losers.

I don't find it.

Just click on the Go Advanced box to find an expanded version of Reply offering more stuff to play with, including emoticons.

This whole post was rather silly and I don't know what I was thinking when I started it.:idk:

I will write it off to my ADD.

I am confused tho when people say quick reply is easier because you can still do a quick reply in the advanced reply page, so why are there two?

o lordy, I've done it again.:cop:

I can't stand like in forums like GS where you can see the quick reply box, but you have to click "reply" to use it. WTF

Now THAT'S what I'm talkin bout, that's my kind of workflow!:thu:

maybe GS isn't that bad after all.

For instance, do you have to piss more from a half full bottle of beer or half empty one?:idk:
