No, no, that was for the SV. I really WOULD like to buy a Kronos, but I just can't justify it beyond just WANT WANT WANT.

that's the first step in "NEED NEED NEED"

I'm so used to it now, I just buy stuff when the WANT WANT WANT happens. You should sell your SV1 and go with the KRONOS. All of the additional stuff you'll gain will be worth it. With your playing skills, you could do a LOT with that thing. If I could play like you I'd own TWO of them! Or all THREE!

My impression was that the OP owns a Kronos and now is having a hard time justifying purchase of something else because, well, he doesn't need too. However like many of us, he love gear and *wants* to.

Aside - As a kid my mother made me sell fruit cakes door-to-door for the Notre Dame Women's club scholarship fund. There were quite a few very nice people who took pity on my and bought one of the things. I think it might have been easier to just go begging.

Well, I don't have a Kronos, but I have a hard time imagining a Virus TI not being an asset to anyone's rig. You get arguably the best digital synth around, and 16 channels of it, with scads of multi-effects (all effects are available for all 16 parts, all the time).

I would love to have a Kronos, but it would have to be the 73- or 88-key model, given that the 61 doesn't have octave up/down buttons. But these things are just too pricey for me... I'd have to sell my Moog LP, Prophet 08, and MOX6 to raise the cash for a Kronos 73. And I ain't doin' that. :)

Oh absolutely. Ive owned a virusti in the past which is my main reason for wanting one again. But after looking at the specs on a Kronos, it just seems like the most "bang for your buck" synth in that price range. Both synths are definitely assets to anyones rig, no doubt, I'm just going through that "Im about to spend a lot of money, is this really what I want?" stage.

Thanks for the support guys!

And those are probably the
same
fruitcakes that are still circling around every Christmas, unwrapped, uneaten... and re-gifted next year.

Anyone remember this?

Selling stationary is just below fruitcakes, but at least I learned some valuable lessons:

  • It would have been cheaper and less work to go out and buy the "prizes".

  • Door to door sales sucks balls.

  • I'm pretty sure a lot of child labor laws we're broken because of this program, yet no one, especially the kids, seemed to mind.

Here in Hong Kong, 88 key is selling @ around US 3205 which is not bad to me. My only concern is as a M3 owner, the screen is okay (in terms of resolution and color) but with the tiny fonts..... made me very hard to tweak the parameters. But do Korg think that I use software editor all the way?
