My Local Post Offices Dropped The Ball!

That's amazing....in a pathetic sort of way. In the past, my experience has been that the "make up" stamps have been widely available. But that's doesn't mean every post office does it or that they even did it that time.

Miraculously, I actually ran out of my 37 cent stamps this weekend, and have a new roll of 39 cent stamps. First time that's ever happened....

That is odd... Geoff. I just heard on the weekend news that the USPS had learned its lesson from the previous two rate increases and printed up plenty of 2 cent stamps. The last times, they printed up lettered stamps, but were late getting those out. I wonder if they can't figure out why more people are switching to email with PDFs from letters?

I certainly welcome Ani's comments; but expert that she is, perhaps she doesn't have much to say about the post offices in my area.

As an update, I'd like to add that I returned yesterday to one of the post offices that originally had no 2

That's like when pay phones were a dime, and all you had was a quarter. You think the {censored}er would give you 15 cents change?

By not having 2 cent stamps, you have to put another 37 center on there. HAHAHA...

Clever bastards.

I think the stamps should be good at the 37 cent price for 30 to 60 days after the raise is instilled. This lack of small stamps to make up the difference is not a "this time only" thing, it's been an occurance every time there was a price raise.

I'm p.od. about the lack of Priority Mail and flat rate mailing boxes in my local P.Os. that are easily available.

I have to stand in line for an hour to get a box or two and then go home, package it it for shipping, return to the P.O. and stand in line another hour?

Asinine.
