Closing out my stateside shopping binge

I've been on a binge. Now, it's time to stop shopping and go

back to working. I have ten days left and and two large

appeals to file within the next 7 days.

Here is what I've picked up this trip.

CUBASE Studio 5.0 Education Edition

Vegas Video

FMR Audio RNLA (Really Nice Line Amplifier)

Canon video camera with an external mic input.

SONY MDR 900HD headphones for monitoring.

HP DV-2 ultra portable notebook computer. (12" screen)

(Now I have 4 notebook computers.)

And finally, software, software, software for the offices.

I don't know where I'm going to install Cubase & Vegas yet.

I have a 4 year old DELL w/XP & 4 Gig RAM.

I can dedicate to music. It's just been reformatted. But I'm a little worried

it will crash yet again. It's given me a couple of problems this year already.

I also have an Acer with 4 Gig, 15.6 inch screen & 32 bit Vista.

But it's really my business/writing computer. The larger screen

would be good for video. But it's not 64 bit.

I hate to go back to the traffic & pollution.

But with everything I see happening in the US right now,

it might not be such a bad place to chill out.

Plus, after four years on the ground there, my law practice is humming along. pretty well.

I've already got Vietnam. And I'm expanding slowly into other countries.

I hope to have a trip to Morocco this year or next. I have several

cases there.

I have a little niche law practice. Other lawyers don't do what I do.

I really have very little competition and I'm recognized for my expertise in one

little area of the law. But I don't charge enough because my clients aren't rich.

And I don't make nearly as much money as I deserve.

Here is my bedroom, away from all the traffic. (But it's still noisy).

BTW, that big arch top you see --- kills other arch tops.

Nice collection, where's your D25?

I gave it to my son. I wish he'd use his time more productively.

But at least he's not a lawyer. He graduated from college this year.

I hope he takes up a reputable profession.

BTW, I'm really impressed with these SONY MDR900HD headphones.

Music sounds terrible through them. They must be pretty accurate.

All mixes - not just mine - but all mixes - sound awful when I listen through these things.

Plus - they're uncomfortable. These are really awesome headphones.
