Members the DW Posted August 14, 2007 Members Share Posted August 14, 2007 Hey Willy, So far, it's only projected to hit the Big Island, and was downgraded to a category 2, but the last hurricane we experienced was supposed to pass to the south of the islands when it made a right turn and slammed right into us. Due to our scheduling conflicts, I've only been able to cook for her a couple of times, although she enjoyed the food. She says she wants to cook for me next. I'll let you guys know how it comes out. Members twosticks Posted August 16, 2007 Members Share Posted August 16, 2007 I'm inland Florida. the first part of this year we were in major drought, had the wildfires all around and such. I kinda predicted that later we have the opposite by the end of the year. We've had some rain this summer, but still low as compared to average. I think we are due for one good storm to soak us here in North Florida during the season. I just hate the hype the most. You can go to the coast during any thunderstorm and see rough seas. I'm not downplaying the danger at all. I just hate the hype how CNN and the others are so quick to call any storm "The worst in history during a non-leap year, while during a month with only 30 days in it" and so forth.......
