After I listed my highly desirable, white Yamaha Recording Customs for sale on craigslist, I got this response:

Now, I may be a dick to be put off by that, but don't you think that if you're going to ask for a donation, maybe you should ask somebody for like a Pearl Export or a Ddrum Punx or something? You want a free Recording Custom kit?!?!?! Really??!!!

{censored}, after my set got stolen, I was looking for handouts and/or deals from whoever/wherever I could.

Maybe he figures anyone with enough cash for a nice kit's got plenty to spare. Either way, I'd be disinclined to believe such a request in any case.

You are a cold hearted jerk! How dare you have the money to afford such nice and great drums and try to make money off the resale of them! You should be ashamed! I bet you worked for every little penny to buy those Customs didn't you?? AND I bet you wouldn't be selling those Customs if you didn't have in fact TWO sets! Am I right??? While little Timmy plays in the garage on old paint cans. How can you? I mean really??

What you DO NOT seem to understand is that there are MANY drumless drummers that you need to 'bailout' as it were. You have and they have not. You might as well do it now before they pass a law that ALL drummers have to have the best, Otherwise it wouldn't really be fair would it? I mean we're not taking about food or meaningless shelter, we are taking about drums and YOUR LACK of heart to donate a classic set of drums is beyond mention!

I hope you find it in your heart between now and Christmas to work hard, save your own money and buy for others. The others won't take junk though so you need to really make up for it, lets say include some high end cymbals?? You can't exspect to have great drums with either none or entry line cymbals you know! Please look at yourself in the mirror and when you can face yourself, then maybe I can forgive as you ask me for forgivness.

You're not. I had the same experience after listing a few items on Craigslist. Both responses were reaching out to my sympathetic side(one was a student, the other a teacher, supposedly) to get me to A.) cut the price in half or B.) give it away. I told both of them my prices were reasonable and they were a deal at those prices, their offers I would consider a STEAL. People are just testing you. Nicely tell them to {censored} off or pony up.

You know though, if the person would just make the effort to come and personally see the drum and meet me and tell me the situation in person, I might be a little more forgiving.
